C., Mr. and Mrs. Ireland: its Scenery and Character, 1841-1846-1843 3 vols, first or early editions quarto, about 450 to 500 pages per vol., numerous steel engraved plates of views and maps plus almost 500 wood engraved views through the text, bound in publisher's grey cloth with large and attractive gilt blocked designs. One of the most loved of 19th century descriptions of pre-Famine Ireland for which the two Irish authors travelled extensively to source information on each locality and its social conditions and for which they engaged the best artists.
